Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) In-Home Treatments & Wellness

Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, otherwise known as POTS, is a dysfunction of the autonomic nervous system. It is a form is dysautonomia. The autonomic nervous system controls bodily functions which we do not need to think about, like temperature regulation, blood pressure, heart rate, digestion, etc. Symptoms of POTS include dizziness/lightheadedness in standing, heart rate increase in standing, fainting, neuropathy, headaches, difficulty sleeping, fatigue, visual changes, chest pain, GI issues, heat intolerance, brain fog, exercise intolerance…. and the list goes on. The complexity of symptoms along with a lack of medical personnel who specialize and understand POTS makes it difficult to diagnosis and treat.

POTS usually is caused by something else… mast cell activation syndrome, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, infections (including COVID-19), autoimmune disorders, possible genetics, etc. Lee not only works with clients with POTS, but she is also diagnosed with POTS. She UNDERSTANDS how challenging it is to get proper management and education for this syndrome. She also understands how important safe, appropriate exercises (built around your toleration) are to help manage the symptoms of POTS. Exercise, if dosed correctly, can be one of the best long-term treatments for POTS. The goal is to help those with POTS improve their symptoms through a “slow and low”, yet progressive, exercise program. These exercises are based on her client’s needs and toleration. Each person with POTS is unique. Lee will spend the time to assess and develop a program based on each person’s needs.

Lee can be consulted via Zoom if you live in the state of Florida.
